Adelino Pinto 86 of New Bedford passed away Monday October 7, 2019, surrounded by his family at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He was the loving son of the late Manuel and Teresa (Dias) Pinto. He was born in Gralhos, Montalerge, Portugal and resided in New Bedford with his devoted wife of 59 years, Emilia (Alves) Pinto. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Adelino dedicated most of his professional career to A.J. Welch Corp. as a laborer until his retirement. Adelino was a member of the Clube Recordacoes de Portugal and the Laborers Union #385 of Fairhaven/New Bedford. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time in his garden, daily walks and more importantly spending time with great friends and family gatherings. Survivors include his wife. He was a loving father to his sons Daniel Pinto and his wife Lucy of East Freetown and David Pinto of North Dartmouth. Also survived by his brother Francisco Pinto of Naugatuk, Ct.; his sister Joaquina Lucas of Spring, TX; he was the loving grandfather of Alexa (Pinto) and her husband Brian Hynes, Jordan and Lauren; his great grandson Colin also many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jose, Antonio and Joao Pinto and Maria Dias. His funeral mass will be said Friday 10:30AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours will be 5-8PM Thursday at the Boulevard Funeral Home 223 Ashley Blvd. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in his name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
