Aldora Sowienski

Aldora (Souza) Sowienski 91 of New Bedford passed away Tuesday January 10, 2012 at St. Luke’s hospital. She was the widow of Charles Sowienski and daughter of the late Cesar and Maria (Vasconcellos) Souza. She was born in Funchal, Madeira Island and had lived in New Bedford most of her life. Mrs. Sowienski was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. She was formerly employed as a stitcher at B&J manufacturing until her retirement. Survivors include her daughter Diana Hurd and her husband Bill of New Bedford; her brother Carlos Souza of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren Lisa Medeiros and her fiancé Mark Alves of New Bedford, Lori Pimental and her husband Brian of Acushnet; Lance Hurd of New Bedford; a great-granddaughter Katelyn Elizabeth Nolan of Norton, MA, several nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Mario Souza, Hilda Souza,Victor Souza, Cesar Souza and Cidalia Martin. Her funeral mass will be said 9am Friday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-7pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery
