Alfredo D Alves

Alfredo D. Alves, 84, of New Bedford, passed away at St Luke's Hospital on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Born in Turquel, Portugal, he was the son of the late Antonio Alves and the late Deolinda Silveira. 

Alfredo came to the United States in 1974 and was a hard working machine operator within the manufacturing industry for many years. 

He is survived by his loving wife Maria (Casimiro) Alves; his two daughters, Isabel Oliveira and her husband Fernando of Acushnet and Rosalina Carneiro and her husband Manuel of New Bedford; his brothers, Joaquim Alves and Manuel Alves. He is also survived by five beautiful grandchildren, Nelson Oliveira, Shawn Oliveira, Kyle Oliveira, Evan Carneiro and Mandy Carneiro, as well as a great-grandchild, Viviana Oliveira and many nieces and nephews. 

Alfredo was preceded in death by his brother Jose Alves and his sister Maria Roxo.

Visiting hours for Alfredo will be held on Sunday, July 21st from 5-7 PM at Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. His funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 22nd at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church in New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
