Alice T DaSilva

Alice T. (Duraes) DaSilva, 81, of New Bedford, passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Born in Coimbra, Portugal, she was daughter of the late Manuel Duraes and the late Eduarda Duraes and wife of the late John C. DaSilva. Alice retired after many years at the Acushnet Company where she worked as a Winder. She was a devout member of the Assembleia Pentecostal Church. Alice enjoyed spending her time crocheting, knitting and doing needlepoint. Survivors include her son, Paul DaSilva; sister, Eulalia Batista; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Luis Duraes, Antonio Duraes, John Duraes; sisters, Helena Fidalgo, Isabel Botelho, Natalia Duraes, and Magarida DaSilva. Her visitation will be at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd. on Tuesday, September 5th from 6-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 6th at 9am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
