Alice Manta

Alice M. (Martins) Manta 95 passed away Wednesday May 20, 2020 at Our Lady’s Haven. She was the wife of the late Joao A.R. Manta and daughter of the late Antonio and Josefina (Morgado) Martins. She was born in New Bedford and had lived in Portugal for many years before moving back to the Southcoast area. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She was employed as a stitcher for various clothing manufacturing companies, until her retirement. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Seniors and liked to shop, sing, dance and go to Foxwoods. Survivors include several relatives in RI., and her friend and caregiver Darlene Nunes and her family. Due to current restrictions on public gatherings, her funeral will be private for her immediate family.
