Alice Viveiros

Alice (Reis) Viveiros 94 passed away Friday November 11, 2011 at The Oak’s. She was the widow of John Oliveira Viveiros and daughter of the late Jose and Mariana (Oliveira) Reis. She was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident of the South coast area. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. She was formerly employed as a battery hand in various cotton mills, also for Grinnell Pajamas and Bristol Sportswear. Mrs. Viveiros was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality of her church and also the Immaculate Conceptions Seniors. Survivors include her sons, John W. Viveiros of Plymouth, Richard O. Viveiros of Acushnet; her daughter Mary O. Medeiros of Acushnet; her brother Jose Humberto Reis of Fairhaven; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her funeral mass will be said Wednesday 9am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-7pm.Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery
