Antonio Bernard Andrade

Antonio Bernard Andrade, 91 of New Bedford, passed away at The Oaks on Monday, November 21st. Born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel Bernard Andrade and Maria doCarmo (Ferreira) Andrade and husband to the late Eduarda Maria (Silva) Andrade. Antonio came to New Bedford in 1978 and lived in the area for the remainder of his life. He found his passion in gardening and worked for 30 years at the Sylvan Nursey as a talented landscaper and great mentor to many. He loved spending time and being surrounded by his loving family. Antonio is survived by his sons; John Andrade and wife, Jacqueline, Peter Andrade; daughter, Maria Nogueria and husband, Mark; brother, Francisco Andrade; sisters, Maria dos Anjos Ramalho, Rosa Andrade; grandchildren, Nicole Williams and husband, Robert, Joshua Andrade and wife, Ella, Shaun Andrade and wife, Madison, Christopher Andrade and wife, Megan, Lindsay Lourenco and husband, Nicholas, Brittany Andrade; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Antonio is preceded in death by his brothers, Manuel B Andrade, Jose Andrade, Joao Andrade; sisters, Magarida Alcadino and Ermelinda Oliviera. A Funeral Mass will be held for Antonio on Monday, November 28th at 9am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, followed by burial at Rural Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, November 27th from 2-5pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home.
