Antonio Teixeira

Antonio "Tony" Teixeira 74 of New Bedford, died at home, after a brief illness, on Friday April 2, 2010. He was the husband of Loretta (Brown) Teixeira, they had been married for 52 years. He was also the son of the late Joaquim and Aurora (Gomes) Teixeira. He was a lifelong New Bedford resident. He was employed at J.C. Rhodes as a fixer. He was also a courier for Hawthorne Medical and a funeral attendant for the Boulevard Funeral Home. He was a veteran of U.S. Army, the Army reserves and the Air National Guard. He was a member of the Whaling City Golf Club. Survivors include his wife; his children Lisa Bingham and her husband Eric of Stuart, FL; Gary Teixeira and his wife Deb of Glendale, AZ; Lynn Lalonde and her husband Chris of South Dartmouth; his brother Armand Teixeira; his sisters Laura Rusinoski and Elise Rego all of Mattapoisett; his grandsons Cody Smith, Cameron Lalonde, Kyle Teixeira and Anthony Teixeira; several nieces and nephews. He was father of the late Karen Lynn Teixeira and brother of the late Mario Teixeira and Ida Gomez. his funeral service will be held 11am Thursday at the Boulevard Funeral Home 223 Ashley Blvd. Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8pm. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Nurse and Hospice Care PO box 751 Fairhaven, MA 02719-0831
