Arminda Moura

Arminda (Dias) Moura 87 of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly at St. Luke’s hospital on Sunday March 27, 2011. She was the wife of Joao G. Moura , they would have been married for 60 years on March 31. She was also the daughter of the late Jose Goncalves Dias and Albertina Goncalves (da Eira) Dias. She was born in Sao Vincente da Cha, Montelerge, Portugal and had lived in New Bedford since 1966. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Mrs. Moura was formerly employed as a stitcher at Cliftex until her retirement. Survivors include her husband; her sons Domingos Moura of New Bedford, Jose Moura of New Bedford and John Moura of Cibolo, Texas; her daughters Tina Rodrigues of Acushnet, Maria De Moura of New Bedford; her brother Jose Goncalves of Fairhaven; her sisters Preciosa Pereira of New Bedford, Joaquina Goncalves of Ludlow; 9 grandchildren 1 great granddaughter and 1 great grandson on the way; many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rosa Afonso, Conceicao Borlido, Julia Goncalves and Jose Baptista Fernandes. Her funeral mass will be celebrated 9 am Wednesday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visiting hours are Tuesday 6-9pm.Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery.
