Augustinho Cardoso

Augustinho A. Cardoso 95 of New Bedford passed away on Friday January 23, 2015 at home, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Julia (Gomes) Cardoso and son of the late Augusto and Maria do Carmo (Pereira) Cardoso. He was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. He was the #1 founding member of the Futebol Clube de Alverca and a longtime member of the Sporting Clube de Portugal. Children include his sons Jose Manuel Cardoso and his late wife Dolores (Medeiros) Cardoso of Fairhaven, Augusto Ramiro Cardoso and his wife Tamre of Seattle, WA; his daughter Maria Emilia Vicencio and her husband Jose of New Bedford; his grandchildren Jorge Vicencio, Isabel Andrade and her husband Christopher, Brian Cardoso and his wife Suzanne, Alan Cardoso, Zeca Cardoso and Lena Cardoso; his great grandchildren Justice Lynx Andrade, Zyre Javan Andrade, Imryx Caspian Andrade and Jonah Bear Cardoso. His funeral mass will be said 9am Saturday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Friday 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
