Baltazar Marmelo

Baltazar R. Marmelo 91 of New Bedford passed away Saturday November 28, 2015 at the Oak’s. He was the husband of the late Alice (Marmelo) Marmelo and son of the late Francisco Rodrigues Marmelo and Maria deRosario (Ferreira) Marmelo. He was born in Linhares, Portugal and had lived in New Bedford since 1971. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Mr. Marmelo was formerly employed as a machine operator at Johnson & Johnson until his retirement. He was a big fan of the Sporting Soccer Club. Survivors include his step-son John Candido of New Bedford; his step-daughter Augusta Tavares and her husband Carlos of New Bedford; His brother Joao Marmelo of New Bedford; 6 step-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alberto Ramos, Jose Marmelo, Antonio Marmelo, Manuel Marmelo and Rosa Soares. His funeral mass will be said 10:30am Wednesday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Tuesday 5-7pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
