Barbara DeMello

Barbara (Lamere) DeMello 68 of New Bedford passed away on Monday July 13, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Gilbert DeMello and daughter of the late John Lamere and the late Alice (Shaw) Dries. She was born in Middleboro and had lived in the New Bedford area for many years. She was formerly employed as a CNA at the Island Terrace Nursing Home. Her favorite color was purple, she collected angels, and she liked to go to the 6th Bristol Club, American Legion and VFW in Fairhaven. She also like to play Keno and going to the casino. Survivors include her children David Lamere, Brian Lamere and his companion Barbara Murdock, Lisa Lamere and her companion Lucinio Rodrigues, Christine Lamere and her husband Danny Robles, Amy Rogers and her husband Billi. Her siblings William Lamere, Richard Dries Jr. and his wife Wendy Dries, David Dries, Deborah Sanborn and her husband Wayne, Diane Dries. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late John Lamere and Timothy Lamere. Her visiting hours are Friday July 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home 223 Ashley Blvd. Her funeral service will be held Monday, July 20 at 10:45 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. All attendees are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Capacity will be limited to 50 people.
