Beatrice Duarte

Beatrice (Bento) Duarte 87 formerly of Fairhaven Village passed away Wednesday Sept. 4, 2019 at Our Lady’s Haven. She was the widow of Seraphin Duarte and daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Casmiro) Bento. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. Beatrice was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was employed as a stitcher at Colonial Textile until her retirement. Survivors include her daughters Catherine Souza of New Bedford and Joanne Deneault of Tiverton, RI; her brother James Bento of Marion, her sister Mabel Calheta of Rochester, MA, her grandchildren Joshua Souza and his fiancée Heather, Daniel Souza and his wife Janessa, Christine Deneault and her fiancée Brian and Stephen Deneault. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Harper Souza, Marcus Deneault and several Nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Hilda Fernandes and Dorothy Motta. Beatrice’s family would like to thank the staff at Our Lady’s Haven and Community Nurse Hospice for their many kindnesses. Her visiting hour will be Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 9:30 am until 10:30am at the funeral home. Her funeral mass will be said 11am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.
