Candida Igreijas

Candida (Marques) Igreijas 92 of Acushnet passed away at home on Monday October 19, 2015. She was the widow of Antonio Igreijas and daughter of the late Abilio and Guilhermina Candida (Cadavilha) Marques. She was born in Portugal and had lived in Acushnet and New Bedford for 43 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Mrs. Igreijas was formerly employed by Justin Clothing as a stitcher until her retirement. She was a member of the Clube Recordacoes de Portugal. Survivors include her daughter Maria dos Anjos and her husband Alipio of Acushnet; her son Jose M. Marques and his wife Carolyn of Fall River; her brother Antonio Marques of New Bedford; her sister Irene Barros of Marion; her grandchildren Sandra dos Anjos, Bryan dos Anjos, Mandi Marques, Kristen Marques and Jessica Marques; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. Her funeral mass will be said 9am Friday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8pm.Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
