Carlos Pereira

Carlos Alberto Ferreira Pereira 64 of New Bedford passed away suddenly at home on Sunday May 10, 2015. He was the son of the late Jose and Nataldina (Ferreira) Pereira. He was the former husband of Linda (Pereira) da Costa. He was born in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Portugal and had lived in New Bedford for many years. Mr. Pereira was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was formerly employed by Coaters Inc. as a leather worker. He was a former member of the Portuguese American Athletic Club, a regular blood donor, enjoyed bowling. He was a loving and generous man with a sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his former wife; his children, Kevin Pereira of Dartmouth, Tracy Violette and her husband Gregory of Warwick, RI; his brother Orlando Pereira and his wife Maria of New Bedford; his sister Paulina daCosta of Acushnet; his brother-in-law Arsenio Freitas of New Bedford; many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Sandra Freitas. His funeral mass will be held Saturday May 23 at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours, with his cremains present will be 6-8pm Friday May 22. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the family for the Angel House Foundation to build an orphanage overseas would be greatly appreciated.
