Dora Pereira

Dora (Raposo) Pereira 87 of New Bedford passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at St. Luke’s hospital. She was the widow of Silveiro Sousa Pereira and daughter of the late Jose Raposo Tavares and the late Maria Augusta Medeiros. She was born in Achadinha, St. Michael, Azores and had lived in New Bedford since 1968. Dora was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was formerly employed by Justin Clothing as a stitcher, until her retirement. Survivors include her son Jose Pereira and his wife Tibera of New Bedford, her daughter Maria F. Pimentel and her husband Joao of New Bedford, 5 grandchildren Stephanie Levesque, Wendy Amaral, Andy Pereira, Amada Pereira and the late Brian Amaral,6 great grandchildren Tyler Levesque, Lexi Amaral, Nathan Fidalgo, Dominic Pereira Donovan Pereira and Kaia Bernard and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral mass will be said 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 2, at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours will be 8-10am Wednesday, December 2, at the Boulevard Funeral Home 223 Ashley Blvd. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing. The capacity will be limited at the funeral home. Her burial will be private.
