Dorothy Jorge

Dorothy M. (Lemos) Jorge 82 formerly of Earle St. in New Bedford passed away Saturday April 10, 2010 at St. Luke's hospital. She was the widow of Frank L. Jorge and daughter of the late Leo and Marie (Nadeau) Lemos.  She was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua church in New Bedford. Mrs. Jorge was the manager of Sidwells Variety until her retirement. The joys of her life were her family, her pets and music. She was the loving mother of  Frank A. Jorge of New Bedford, Kathleen DaCosta and her husband Joel of South Dartmouth, Christopher Jorge of New Bedford and Victoria Jorge of New Bedford. She was a devoted grandmother to Kevin, Stephen, Lori, Frank, Alyssa, Zackery, Kristopher and Timothy. She is also survived by her brothers Leo Lemos of Boston and Raymond Lemos of Fairhaven, also several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Stephen L. Jorge of Las Vegas. Her funeral mass will be said 9am Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua church. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8pm. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery.
