Dorothy Soares

Dorothy M. (Nelson) Soares 87 of Acushnet passed away Wednesday June 18, 2014 at the Hathaway Manor. She was the widow of Frank A. Soares and daughter of the late George W. and Mary Elizabeth (Haigh) Nelson. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. She was formerly employed as an assembler for Aerovox until her retirement. Mrs. Soares was a member of the Legion of Mary. Survivors include her son Anthony Mello of Fairhaven; her daughter Sharron A. Crooks of North Dartmouth; 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In accordance with Dorothy’s wishes she will be cremated.
