Emily Gomes

Emily (Gama) Gomes 81 of New Bedford passed away Sunday April 1, 2012 at the Hathaway Manor. She was the widow of Fernando “Freddy” Gomes and daughter of the late Ermelinda (Forte) Gama and step-daughter of the late Walter E. Dunkel. She was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. Mrs. Gomes was employed by St. Luke’s hospital as the ward clerk in the emergency room until her retirement. Survivors include her children Fred L. Gomes and his wife Kathleen E. Langford of Mattapoisett, her daughter Debby Kronteres and Buster of New Bedford; her sister Delores Smith of Arizona; her grandchildren Maegan, Jilian and J.D.; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday.Visiting hours are Tuesday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery
