Ernesto Custodio

Ernesto Custodio 85 of New Bedford passed away Sunday May 15, 2011 at St. Luke’s hospital. He was the husband of Liduina (Couto) Custodio and son of the late Antonio Custodio and Maria de Jesus. He was born in Feteira, St. Michael, Azores and had lived in New Bedford since 1980. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Mr. Custodio was formerly employed by Chamberlain Manufacturing as a chipper until his retirement. Survivors include his wife; his son Luis Custodio of Fla.; his daughters Goreti Custodio of New Bedford, Maria Custodio of New Bedford, Ester Carreiro of Fairhaven, Neli McCombe of Rochester, Zilda Custodio of New Bedford, Elizabeth Custodio of New Bedford ; his sisters Maria Silva of New Bedford, Germana Teixeira of New Bedford; his grandchildren Kalita Brownell, Ashley McCombe, Shawn McCombe; many nieces and nephews. His funeral mass will be said Friday 9am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery
