Eva Farias

Eva (Henriques) Farias 92 of New Bedford passed away Monday July 25, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alfred Farias and daughter of the late Antonio and Diamantina (Costa) Henriques. She was born in Fall River and had lived in New Bedford most of her life. Eva was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in New Bedford. She was formerly employed as a stitcher for Langshaw Manufacturing until her retirement. Survivors include her son Paul Farias and his companion Karen Cabral of Westport; her sisters Alice Mattos of Fairhaven, Lea Freitas of New Bedford and Irene Hicks of Duxbury; her grandchildren Paul Farias Jr. and his wife Melissa, Tara Deschenes; her great grandchildren Katrina Bissonette and her husband Scott, Ryan, Bridget, Brett and Jason; her sisters - in - laws Irene Henriques of Fairhaven and Julie Laplante of Mattapoisette. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel Henriques and James Henriques.Eva’s family would like to thank the staff at Our Lady’s Haven and the doctors, nurses and staff of the Telemetry dept. at Charlton Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. Her funeral mass will be said 9:30am Friday at St. Mary’s Church in New Bedford. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-8pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
