Francisco DeSouza

Francisco DeSouza 93, also known as Francisco Souza of New Bedford passed away Friday December 14, 2012 at the Bedford Village Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Esmeralda (Couto) Souza and was the son of the late Manuel and Efigerina (DeMoura) DeSouza. Francisco was a lifelong resident of New Bedford and a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He worked as a foreman for various construction companies and also at Lissak Shoes. He was a member of the Clube Recordacoes de Portugal. Francisco is survived by his son, Ronald Souza and his wife Carol of New Bedford; his two sisters Ilda Gonsalves and Carminda Gonsalves both of New Bedford; Six grandchildren including Kimberly and Kristen; One great grandson Kyle; several nieces and nephews including his loving nephew David Couto. He was the father of the late Henrique Couto; Brother of the late Armando and Mario DeSouza. His funeral mass will be said 10AM Tuesday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting Hours will be held Monday from 5-8PM at Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
