Francisco Medeiros

Francisco Medeiros 91 of New Bedford passed away Monday August 10, 2015 at St. Anne’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Isaura (Mendonca) Medeiros and son of the late Francisco and Rosalina (DaMota) Medeiros. He was born in Vila Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores and had lived in New Bedford since 1968. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Mr. Medeiros was a machine operator at Coaters Inc. until his retirement. Mr. Medeiros was a member of the Holy Ghost Society of his Church. Survivors include his son Jose Medeiros, his daughter Connie Furtado and her husband Henry all of New Bedford; His brother Jose Medeiros of Brazil; his sisters Maria Oliveira and Teresa Mendonca both of New Bedford, Conceicao Lima of Canada, Maria do Carmo Medeiros of Portugal; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 step granddaughter, 3 step grandsons; many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Cosme Medeiros and brother of the late Virgilio Medeiros, Aurelio Medeiros, Joana Raposo and Laurina Barboza. His funeral mass will be held 10:30am Thursday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Wednesday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
