Francisco "Chico" Pereira

Francisco Vaz “Chico” Pereira 63 of New Bedford passed away Thursday June 15, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Maria Isabel (dosSantos) Pereira, for 40 years, and son of the late Francisco and Emelia Pereira. He was born in Aveiro, Portugal and had lived in New Bedford for many years. Mr. Pereira was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in New Bedford. “Chico” was employed by the J.F. White Company as a construction foreman. He was also a member of the Mass Laborers Union Local 223. Survivors include his wife; his son Nicholas Santos Pereira of New Bedford; his granddaughter Sierra Rodrigues Pereira. He is also survived by brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. “Chico’s” funeral will be 8:30am Thursday from the Boulevard Funeral Home 223 Ashley Blvd. followed by his funeral mass at 9:30am at St. Mary’s Church in New Bedford. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
