Gary Sylvia Sr.

Gary A. Sylvia Sr. 59, of Rochester passed away at home, after a brief illness, on Monday June 12, 2017. He was the son of the late Arthur and Shirley Sylvia. He leaves his wife of 32 years Roberta “Robbie” (DeMello) Sylvia, his daughter Brendalee, 2 sons Victor, Gary Jr. and his wife Samantha; 3 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 4 great-grandchildren and a godchild, Angel of RI. 2 brothers Michael and Warren; a sister Pamela and her husband Joe Tripp of VA. He was the brother of the late Ronald Sylvia. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Gary was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed as a scalloper all of his life. He loved the water and spending time with his family. He enjoyed going on trips with his wife, especially to Atlantic City. He enjoyed playing the game of spades with his grandchildren and being the chef on the barbecue. As my grandfather would say, “love you kiddo”. Visitation will be Saturday 3-7pm.
