Geraldine Savage

Geraldine (Evangelho) Savage age 88 of New Bedford passed away Friday August 2, 2013 surrounded by her family, after a long illness at the Hathaway Manor Extended Care facility. She was the wife of Eugene Savage and daughter of the late Francisco P. and Jacinta B. (Mello) Evangelho. She was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Savage was a communicant of the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish. She was formerly employed as a machine operator for Aerovox and Cornell Dublier until her retirement. Survivors include her husband; her daughters Brenda McGee of New Bedford and Susan Henry of CA. her granddaughters Jessica Kemble, Rebecca Wooler and Melissa Cote; her great-grandchildren Kayton Chmielewski, Brynn and Megan Kemble; her sister-in-law Peggy Evangelho; many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Laura Martin, Leo Evangelho, Lillian Evangelho and Frank Evangelho. Her funeral mass will be said 9 am on Wednesday at the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus church. Visiting hours will be Tuesday 4-7pm. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Hathaway Manor and Beacon Hospice for their kindness. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery.
