Gilbert Montanez

Gilbert Montanez 63, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019. He was the husband of Barbara (McKibben) and the son of the late Francisco Montanez and Inez Lopez. He was born in Bronx, New York. Gilbert was employed at the Country Club of New Bedford as a grounds keeper. He loved cars and worked on them as a mechanic in various garages and on his own. He was member of The First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife; brothers Edwin Montanez and wife, Carmen of Florida, Freddy Montanez and wife, Justy of Florida, and Oscar Montanez of Massachusetts; sister Evelyn Montanez of New Bedford. Per his request he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held 9:30am Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the First Church of the Nazarene 764 Hathaway Road New Bedford, MA 02740
