Gracinda (Carmo) Costa, 79, of Dartmouth, passed away Thursday, December 10 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of Alvaro DaCosta and daughter of the late Maria do Carmo Martins and step daughter of the late Augusto Martins. She was born in Quintela de Azurara, Portugal and had lived in this area for many years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Gracinda was employed in the garment industry as a stitcher until her retirement. Survivors include her husband, her children Augusto DaCosta and his wife Angela of Gulf Coast, FL, Carlos Costa of New Bedford, Adosinda Ferreira and her husband Fernando of New Bedford, Antonio DaCosta and his wife Dalia of Fairhaven, Jose “Chico” DaCosta and his wife Michelle of New Bedford and Kelly Pereira and her husband Victor of Fairhaven. Her brother Antonio Martins of France, her sister Adozinda Martins of Palm Coast, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jessica, Deidre, Meaghan, Ashley, Alysen, Cameron, Ian and Logan; her great grandchildren Elijah, Tazmyn, Landon, Lucas and Lila. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jose Maria Martins. Her funeral mass will be celebrated 9am, Tuesday, December 15 at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Monday, December 14, from 5-8pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home 223 Ashley Blvd. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing. Attendance at the funeral home, church and cemetery will be limited.
