Helena Pereira

Helena Goncalves Pereira, 84, of New Bedford passed away December 20, 2020, at Care One at New Bedford. She was the daughter of the late Francisco Afonso Pereira and the late Teresa (Calado) Pereira. She was born in Gralhas, Montalergre, Portugal and had lived in this area for many years. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in New Bedford. Helena was employed by Clean Rentals until her retirement. Survivors include her brother Jose Pereira of New Bedford; her sisters Maria Vaz of New Bedford and Maria Helena Pereira also of New Bedford. Her nephews Carlos Baia, who is also her Godson, Jack Vaz, Silvestre Pereira and Felipe Pereira. She is also survived by her niece Maria C. Vaz. She was the sister of the late Conceicao Pereira Baia and Hilario Afonso Pereira. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 11am, at St. Mary’s Church, New Bedford. Everyone is invited to meet at the church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
