Herve Robichaud

Herve W. Robichaud 88 of Acushnet passed away Saturday December 13, 2014 at Our Lady’s Haven. He was the husband of Janet (Lecuyer) Robichaud for 60 years and son of the late Alfred and Vitaline (LeBlanc) Robichaud. He was born in New Bedford and resided in this area all of his life. He was formerly employed by the Mass. Dept. of Employment Security as an interviewer, until his retirement. Mr. Robichaud served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War earning the rank of corporal. He was a member of the Secular branch of the Sacred Heart, Blueberry Growers association, Mass Bee Keepers association. He was very involved with the Boy Scouts, Troop 51, Damien’s Place food pantry and a member of the VFW post 6643 in Freetown. Survivors include his wife; his son Alfred Robichaud of Acushnet, his daughter Yvonne Capella of Lakeville, his sisters Theresa Lizotte of New Bedford, Virginia Robichaud of Fairhaven; his grandchildren Matthew, Elizabeth, Rachael, Margaret, Gabriel and David. 2 great grandchildren also several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late George L. Robichaud and brother of the late Frieda Longworth, Lorraine Carter and Lucille Ponte. His funeral mass will be said 9:30am Friday at the chapel at Our Lady’s Haven. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8pm.Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
