HILDA P. LAGE of Acushnet passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 at St.Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after a series of long illnesses at the age of 81. She was the wife of 57 years of Fernando F. Lage and the mother of Deborah A. Cofrancesco, wife of George, Judith A. Dubois, wife of Wayne, and David S. husband of Patricia and grandmother of Scott, Kyle, Ross and Todd Dubois, Christine Lage, Brian and Alanna Cofrancesco. She was the daughter of the late Manuel Pereira and Juvita de Jesus Pereira. She was predeceased by brothers Manuel Jr. and Narcizo Pereira, and sisters Mary Pao, Catherine Enos, and Angelina Pereira. She was born, raised and educated in New Bedford. Her first job after school was at Grant’s Department Store on Acushnet Avenue. Then she worked in various stitching factories but mostly at G&J Manufacturing Co. She then worked for the Acushnet Process Co. in the rubber division for 32 yrs. until she retired. She was a member of the Acushnet Companies Retiree Club, the Acushnet Senior Center Scrabble Club and the Jolly Seniors Bowling League. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-7pm. Her funeral Mass will be at St. Mary’s Church in New Bedford on Tuesday at 9am with burial at Pine Grove Cemetery
