Isaura Cardoso

Isaura (Machado) Cardoso 94 of New Bedford passed away Tuesday September 16, 2014 at the New Bedford Healthcare Center. She was the widow of Joaquim Cardoso and daughter of the late Agostinho and Amelia (Hilario) Machado. She was born in New Bedford and had lived here all of her life. She was a communicant of the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Survivors include her sons Nelson Cardoso and his wife Tammy of Acushnet, Antonio Cardoso of Georgia, Joaquim “Jack” Cardoso Jr of Fairhaven.; her daughters Ida Fernandes and her husband Augusto of New Bedford, Amelia Kresge and her husband Glenn of Florida, Mary Mota of Dartmouth, Barbara Mendes and her husband Antonio of New Bedford, Isaura “Hazel” Cardoso of Dartmouth; her brother Antonio Machado; her daughter-in-law Amelia Cardoso of New Bedford;17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Agostinho “Gus” Cardoso, sister of the late Arnold Machado and Mary Cruz; great grandmother of the late Cameron J. Goulart. Her funeral mass will be said 9am Saturday at the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Visiting hours are Friday 5-8pm.Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
