James “Jamie” LaRose Jr., 54 of Fairhaven, MA passed away unexpectedly, at home, on February 22, 2019. Born in Revere, MA, Jamie was a lifelong resident of Acushnet & Fairhaven. Jamie graduated from Old Colony High School, Class of 1982, with high honors. Jamie was mostly known for being a dedicated member of the Acushnet American Legion, where he spent many holidays volunteering his time. When not at the Legion, Jamie spent his early hours working at Bush Quality Cleaners, as a dry cleaner, for well over 20 years. He was known for never taking a sick day. Jamie is survived by his father James LaRose Sr. of Acushnet. His three loving sisters Amy LaRose, Kim Peets-LaRose and Melissa LaRose all of New Bedford. His two children Hayden LaRose and Chloe LaRose. His granddaughter Ivy LaRose and soon to be granddaughter Mae. His longtime companion Robin Rucker LaRose and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, who loved Jamie deeply. Jamie is pre-deceased by his mother Margaret LaRose. Jamie’s family will be hosting a celebration of his life, at the Acushnet American Legion 71 Hope St. Acushnet, MA 02743, Saturday March 9, 2019 from 2-4pm. All who knew Jamie are welcome to join.
