Joann Brierley

Joann G Brierley, 68 of New Bedford, passed away on June 8, 2020. She was the daughter of late Joseph F and late Florence G (Dalrymple) Brierley & wife of the late Bradford Sherman. Born in New Bedford, Joann graduated from UMass Dartmouth with her Bachelor of Arts in English/Education and later completed her MBA. She was a Master Tax Preparer for H+R Block and Chief Financial Officer at Captaincies Brad's Wind Spinners. Joann was former President and past Woman of the Year at the American Business Women's Association where she sat on the Executive Board. Also, she was a member of the Greater New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce, the Women's Center in New Bedford, Your Theater Inc. of New Bedford, and participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. She is survived by her brothers; John Brierley and significant other, Michelle Olean of Dartmouth, Tom Brierley and wife JoAnn of North Carolina, Andrew Brierley and wife Kirsten of Lexington, MA; sister Corron Grasela and husband James of New Bedford; 3 nieces and 10 nephews. In accordance with the families wishes she will be cremated.
