Joao Patricio

Joao Augusto Patricio 93 of New Bedford passed away Wednesday October 22, 2014 at the Hathaway Manor. He was the husband of Maria Jose (Pereira) Patricio and son of the late Joao A. and Marieta Patricio. He was born in Funchal, Madeira and had lived in New Bedford for many years. Joao was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was formerly employed by John Matouk as an embroider and a monogram designer. Survivors include his wife, his sons Jose Luis Patricio and his wife Maria Jose "Zeza" of Madeira, Joao Duarte Patricio and his wife Ines of Fall River, his daughter Delilah Patricio of New Bedford; his brothers Carlos Patricio of Fall River, Jose Patricio of Tiverton; his sisters Ligia Fernandes of Westport,MA, Odete of Pittsfield, MA, Otilia and Edite both of Madeira; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Arthur Patricio and brother of the late Jorge Patricio and Fernando Patricio. A visiting hour will be held Friday morning from 9:30 untill 10:30. His funeral mass will be held Friday 11am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
