Joao Simas

Joao T. Simas 79 of New Bedford passed away Friday August 7, 2020 at Care One of New Bedford. He was the husband of Dora (deMedeiros) Simas and son of the late Eugenio Teixeira Simas and the late Maria DoCarmo Sousa. He was born in Achada, Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores and had lived in this area for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Joao was formerly employed by Alden Yachts until his retirement. He was a member of the Senhor de Pedra Club and a Benfica fan. Survivors include his wife, his daughter Ana Oliveira and her husband John of New Bedford, his granddaughter Natasha Oliveira, his brother Daniel Teixeira of Bristol, RI. He is also survived by 2 nephews, Nelson and Jason Teixeira. He was the brother of the late Antonio Teixeira. His private funeral arrangements are by the Boulevard Funeral Home 223 Ashley Blvd.
