John Edward Peltier 62 of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday April 26, 2010. He was the husband of Carolyn (Richard) Peltier and son of the late William Peltier and the late Audrey (Verdi) Mello. He was born in Cambridge and had lived in New Bedford for many years. He was formerly employed as a cook at various restaurants and facilities, but was best known as Jake of Jakes Hit Parade. He enjoyed cooking, especially with his grandson Isaiah and being with his family. He will always be remembered for the loving care he gave to his late mother-in-law Margaret Richard. Survivors include his wife; his daughter Tracy Peltier and her boyfriend Manuel Ortiz of New Bedford; his grandson Isaiah Carmenatty of New Bedford; his sisters Cindy Peltier and her partner Rosalyn Richards of PA, Dorothy Thomas and her husband Wayne of Carver, Nancy Leblanc and her husband Mike of SC; his sister-in-law Nancy Roberts and her husband Larry of New Bedford; his brother-in-law Robert Richard and his wife Mary of NC, and many nieces and nephews. His visitation will be Thursday 4-8pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home 223 Ashley Blvd with a religious service at 7:30. In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to local food banks.
