Jose Antonio 88 of Acushnet passed away Sunday April 7, 2013 at St. Luke’s hospital. He was the husband of Maria Chaves and the son of the late Silvino Pinto Teixeira and Carminda Altunas Gomes. He was born in Chaves, Portugal and had lived in Acushnet for a short time. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Survivors include his wife; his sons Manuel Teixeira of France and Joaquim Teixeira of Acushnet; his brothers Antonio Teixeira of Brazil, Laurintino Teixeira of Portugal, Silvino Teixeira of Portugal; his sisters Preciosa Teixeira of Brazil and Barbara Teixeira of Portugal; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren also many nieces and nephews. His funeral mass will be said 9am Thursday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Wednesday 6- 8pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
