Jose Pedro

Jose Libanio Pedro 64 of New Bedford passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital on Friday July 16, 2010. He was the husband of Maria Lucia (Vilela) Pedro and son of Jose Maria Pedro of Portugal and the late Flavia (Libanio) Pedro. He was born in Loivos, Portugal and came to the United States in 1974. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was a machine operator at the Chamberlain Manufacturing and was also a weaver at Quaker Fabrics. Jose enjoyed playing cards at the Portuguese American Athletic Club and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed gardening and watching television. Survivors include his wife, his father, three daughters Elizabeth V. Pedro, Flavia Vilela Pedro and Kimberly V. Pedro all of New Bedford; four brothers Joao of Brazil, Manuel of Ludlow, Antonio and Armindo both of Portugal; four sisters Maria of Brazil, Dina of France, Ana and Flavia both of Portugal; many nieces and nephews. His funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday at 9am. In accordance with his wishes visitation will be private. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA. 02472
