Karen Hathaway

Karen Frances (Pacheco) Hathaway 64, of Taunton, daughter of the late Shirley and Francis Pacheco passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October25, 2018 , at her home. Born in Acushnet, MA Karen graduated from New Bedford High School in 1972 and went on to earn her Associate’s Degree in computer science from BCC. Karen worked at Mass College of Art and Design and then transferred to Bridgewater State College where she retired in 2003. She then went on to work at AFSCME Council 93 as a business representative, which she recently retired from on October 1, 2018. Karen’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her great nieces and nephews: Adison, Lilah, Scarlett, Cordelia, Nolan and Everly. She had a generous heart and loved giving gifts and seeing the look on their faces. She never missed a birthday party or holiday and always put others first. She also enjoyed playing BINGO and visiting the casinos. She is survived by her sister Jo-Ann Lord of Assonet, nephew Adam Lord and his wife Melanie of Manchester, NH, nephew Alan Lord and his wife Tracie of Lakeville, MA, niece Laurie McGuire and her husband John of Lakeville, MA. She also has an aunt, an uncle and several cousins she was very close with. Her visiting hours will be 5-8pm Thursday November 8 at the Boulevard Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be 10am Friday November 9, also at the funeral home. Burial of her cremains will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
