Laurinda Cardoza, 97, of Acushnet, passed Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Nemasket Healthcare Center. She was born in Acushnet to the late Manuel Cardozo and Maria (daSilva) Cardozo. She was predeceased by her brothers Manuel Cardozo and Mario Cardoza, her nephews Donald and Michael Cardoza and her great niece Rachel Cardoza. "Auntie Laurie" will be greatly missed by all her nieces, nephews (including the great and great great ones), as well as other family members and friends. She was like a mother to many of us, always listened with an open heart and was generous to a fault. She always had food to be warmed for a guest even into her late 90s. In younger years she loved to dance, tend her flower garden, do arts and crafts and travel. The birthday cakes she made were works of art, and she lovingly sewed clothes for many of us. Auntie worked in many different jobs including as a stitcher and later as a keypunch operator and had many interests. Auntie Laurie will be missed because she was a wonderful human being who made our lives better just by being there. Friends and family are invited to Laurinda's visitation on Friday, November 5th at 8:00am, following with her Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Acushnet, burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Please note: All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
