Luis Manuel Pereira

Luis Manuel Vieira Pereira, 75, of New Bedford, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Monday, November 20, 2023. Born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Luis Pereira and the late Filomena (Vieira) Pereira. He is survived by his loving wife Stella (Pacheco) Pereira.

Luis was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and long time member of the Madeira Club. He proudly served in United States Army and worked many years in carpentry.

He is survived by two sons; Joe Luis Pereira and Steven Pereira and a daughter, Sonya Pereira. He is also survived by his sisters; Inez Vieira-Pereira, Leanor Vieira-Pereira, Fernanda Cabral and Lucilia Pereira, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grand-children.

Luis was predeceased by his brothers; Eduardo Pereira and Jorge Pereira and his sister; Emilia Vieira-Pereira.

A visitation will be held at the Boulevard Funeral Home on Sunday, November 26th from 4:00-6:00 pm, with a Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish at 10:00am on Monday, November 27th. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
