Manuel Do Rego

Manuel Do Rego 79 of New Bedford passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at St. Luke’s hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Maria (Sousa) Do Rego. He was born in Vila Franca do Campo, St. Michael and had lived in New Bedford for 51 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Mr. Do Rego was formerly employed by J.F. White Construction as a laborer until his retirement. Survivors include his son John M. Rego of North Dartmouth, his daughters Maria da Fatima Furtado of Acushnet, Adelaide Do Rego of New Bedford, his brother Joe Rego of North Dartmouth, his grandsons Daniel John Rego, Eric Furtado and his great-grandson Trevor Rego, also several nieces and nephews. His funeral mass will be said 9am Saturday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visiting hours are Friday evening 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery.
