Manuel Farpea

Manuel Farpea 60 of New Bedford passed away Tuesday September 24, 2019 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Helena (DeSousa) Farpea and son of Maria (Sousa) Farpea of New Bedford and the late Antonio Farpea. He was born in St. Michael, Azores and had lived in this area since 1969. Manuel was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was employed in the maintenance department at General Fitness Gym in Fall River. He was a very active member of the Senhor da Pedra club, serving as treasurer and the Senhor da Pedra Band Club. He was also active in the Holy Ghost of Sao Pedro. Survivors include his wife and mother, his son Ryan Farpea, his daughter Brittany Farpea and her significant other Shawn Mello, his brother Michael Farpea, his sisters Filomena Farpea and Ana Clapper and her husband Kevin all of New Bedford. He is also survived by his granddaughter Aubrey Mello, a Godchild, nieces and nephews. His funeral mass will be said 9am Monday September 30, at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours will be 4-7pm Sunday September 29 at the Boulevard Funeral Home 223 Ashley Blvd. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
