Maria Cruzeiro

Maria (Cardoso) Cruzeiro, 94, of Acushnet passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Tuesday, April 4th. Born in Valdegas, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Cardoso and the late Aurelia (Goncalves) Cardoso & wife to the late Caciano Cruzeiro. Upon coming the United States with her family in July of 1969, she began working as a presser at State Night's Wear from which she retired many years later. Maria is survived by her son, Alpoim Cruzeiro; daughters, Alice Mendonca, Emilia Cruzeiro and husband, Alcino, Aurelia Magina and husband, Antonio; sisters, Ana Cardoso, Anunciacao Costa; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Alfredo Cardoso; sisters, Rose Ferreira, Prazeres Silva and Alice Barroso. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 11th at 9am at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception. All are welcome to join us prior to mass at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd at 7:30am. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery.
