Maria daRosa

Maria Dina (daSilva) daRosa 87 of New Bedford passed away Wednesday June 14, 2017 at St. Luke’s hospital. She was the wife of the late Luis G. daRosa and daughter of the late Mariano Gonsalves daRosa and Filomena Bettencourt daSilva. She was born in Fayal, Portugal and had lived in New Bedford for many years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Maria was formerly employed as a stitcher at Manly Manufacturing and at Frionor as an inspector until her retirement. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Society of her church. Survivors include her sons Luis G. daRosa of Worcester and Victor J. daRosa of Acushnet; her daughters Maria C. daCosta of Somerset and Alice F. Beauregard of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. Maria’s visiting hours are Friday 6-8pm. Her funeral mass will be said 9am Saturday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
