Maria Leite

Maria C. daConceicao (Raposo) Leite 92 of New Bedford passed away Wednesday March 25, 2015 at St. Luke’s hospital. She was the widow of Elias M. Leite and daughter of the late Manuel Taveira Raposo and Maria daGloria (Medeiros) Raposo. She was born in Fayal da Terra, St. Michael, Acores and had lived in New Bedford since 1967. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Mrs. Leite was formerly employed as a stitcher at Colonial Textile until her retirement. Survivors include her son Luis Leite of New Bedford; her daughters Maria D. Braga of North Dartmouth; Maria Ines Amaral of New Bedford; Bernadette Rocha of North Dartmouth, Maria T. Couture of Rochester; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Jose Leite and Maria Fatima Leite. She was also the grandmother of the late Robert Amaral. Her funeral mass will be said 10:30am Monday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Sunday 4-7pm.Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
