Maria Nogueira

Maria daGloria (Silva) Nogueira 90 of Acushnet passed away peacefully with her family by her side at St. Luke’s hospital on Saturday February 2, 2013. She was the wife of Diogenes Nogueira and daughter of the late Manuel Mateus de Carvalho and Maria dos Anjos Franco. She was born in Achada, St. Michael, Azores and had lived in this area since 1961. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Mrs. Nogueira was formerly employed as a seamstress for Riverside Manufacturing and as a teacher at the New Bedford Portuguese School. Survivors include her husband; her sons Robert Nogueira and his wife Connie of Fredericksburg, VA and Americo Nogueira of Acushnet; her grandchildren, who were the love of her life, Kevin Patrick Nogueira and his wife Brooke, Lauren Elizabeth Nogueira, Jonathan Robert Nogueira and his wife Ashley; her sister-in-laws Eulalia Carvalho, Maria Pereira Nogueira, Edeviges Pacheco also several nieces and nephews. Her funeral mass will be said 9am Tuesday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Visiting hours are Monday 5-8pm at the Boulevard Funeral home 223 Ashley Blvd. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
