Maria Rodrigues

Maria Jose (Raposo) Rodrigues, 89, of New Bedford passed away May 26, 2022 at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Sao Miguel Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Joao F. Raposo and the late Olivia (daSilva) Raposo. She was the widow of the late Gil deAlmeida Rodrigues and wife of Joao F. Testa. She was a stitcher for Calvin Clothing Company for many years and was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Survivors include son, Gil Rodrigues Jr., of New Bedford, daughters; Maria Jose Costa of New Bedford and Ana Maria Poeira of New Bedford, sisters; Diamantina Gonsalves of South Dartmouth and Olivia Tremblay of New Bedford, 7 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held for Maria on Monday, June 13th at 11am at St. John Cemetery.

The family welcomes donations to the Alzheimer's Association as an expression of sympathy instead of flowers.
