Mario Pacheco

Mario S. Pacheco 76 of New Bedford, passed away Wednesday January 26, 2011 after a long illness, at St. Luke’s hospital. He was the husband of Maria Marta Barbosa (DeSousa) Pacheco and son of the late Manuel and Guilhermina Pacheco. He was born in Achada, St. Michael, Azores and had lived in New Bedford since 1978. Mr. Pacheco was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. He was formerly employed by Riverside manufacturing as a presser and at Knapp shoe until his retirement. Survivors include his wife; 5 sons Valdomiro Pacheco, Amadeu Pacheco, Fernando Pacheco, Mario Jorge Pacheco, Osvaldo Pacheco; one daughter Alda Pacheco all of New Bedford; a brother Daniel Pacheco; sisters Maria Pacheco , Silvina Rego all of St. Michael. 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Pacheco. His funeral mass will be said 9am Saturday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visitation will be Friday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery.
